Savannah AMBUCS Scholarship at Savannah Tech
Funder: Savannah AMBUCS (National AMBUCS chapter)
Overview: Created in honor of Savannah AMBUCS' 80th anniversary, this scholarship provides gap funding for students with different abilities attending Savannah Technical College. The scholarship covers the difference in tuition, fees, books, and tools/equipment after all other sources of funding have been applied.
- Four student scholarship awards of up to $1,000 each
- Used for full academic year annually
- Starting with fall semester 2021
- Assists people with different abilities in achieving their career goals

- Savannah Technical College students only
- Georgia residents (requirement for Savannah Tech attendance)

- Aligns with AMBUCS mission to inspire mobility and independence
- Complements other AMBUCS programs: Amtrykes (adaptive bicycles), League of Exceptional Bowlers, Therapist Scholarships

How to Apply
Application Requirements & Process
1. Complete online Savannah Tech Application (www.savannahtech.edu/apply)
2. Submit "Parent Access Release" form (https://www.savannahtech.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2013/11/Parental-Access-Release.pdf)
- Allows parents or those with power of attorney to access student records and submit paperwork on their behalf
3. Turn in required documents:
- Proof of lawful presence
- Proof of Georgia Residency
- Official High School/GED Transcripts
- Official College transcripts
4. Take placement test (may not be required due to COVID-19; check website)
5. Submit Special Populations Self-Identification Disclosure Form (https://www.savannahtech.edu/new-student-special-population-disclosure-form/)
- AMBUCS applicants must be coded with special populations to automatically qualify for the scholarship
6. Complete FAFSA to start financial aid process (https://www.savannahtech.edu/financial-aid/how-to-apply/)
7. Submit Scholarship Application (www.savannahtech.edu/scholarships)
8. Attend student orientation
9. Register for classes
