Sansone Legacy Scholarship Grant

The Sansone Legacy Scholarship, offered by the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation, supports students pursuing higher education at four-year colleges or vocational schools. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, provide grade reports, and participate in mentorship meetings. An essay detailing a personal challenge and two letters of recommendation are required. This scholarship aims to empower students in the Elk Grove area by fostering educational opportunities and community engagement.

Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation
Mission: To facilitate the development of education opportunities and programs through scholarship and grants, and to coordinate contributions to meet the community's needs.
The Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the college and career plans of students in the Elk Grove Unified School District area.Scholarships are provided every year from the endowments and donations of community members, families, individuals, businesses, and community organizations.
The scholarships that are generated and managed through the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation vary considerably in both amounts of award and criteria. The criteria are determined by the individual or group that establishes the scholarship. For instance, community involvement may be a criterion for some EGRSF scholarships, but not for others. Some are intended for students who enroll in four-year colleges; some are for students who plan to attend vocational schools. The EGRSF offers scholarships for individuals pursuing various careers including agriculture, nursing, education, auto mechanics, politics, and the arts, to name a few.
Student must provide updates to the Sansone Legacy Committee each grading period as follows: Grade reports on completed classes & Registration documentation for the upcoming grading period. Student must agree to participate in annual mentorship meetings with a select member of the Legacy Committee, either virutally or in person.
Essay required. Essay should address an obstacle or hardship applicant has faced and the skill or personal traits applicant has used in this experience and how it has affected your college decisions.  Two Letters of Recommendation required, one from a teacher or counselor & one from a community member or employer.
