Samuel H. Kress Grants for Research and Publication in Classical Art and Architecture

The Samuel H. Kress Grants for Research and Publication in Classical Art and Architecture support scholars in disseminating their research on Graeco-Roman art and architecture. Funded by the Archaeological Institute of America, these grants enable publication preparation for studies in the Mediterranean world of Classical antiquity. Kress Grants for Research and Publication in Classical Art and Architecture

Eligibility

Grants are open to scholars of all nations.Applicants still in the research stage must have a publication contract in place with either a non-profit or commercial publisher. Research may be undertaken at domestic or international universities, libraries or study centers, or through excavation or preservation projects of Classical sites.The AIA welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and is committed to equal opportunity for all. In the case of multi-authored or multi-edited publications, the AIA membership requirement applies only to the primary author/principal investigator.

Current officers and members of the Governing Board, staff, members of the Fellowships Committee and members of their immediate families are prohibited from applying for or receiving fellowships, grants, and other financial awards that may be offered by the Archaeological Institute of America.
