Background

Russ Duncan was a remarkable individual who displayed extraordinary strength and kindness. Despite facing his own challenges, he consistently placed the needs of others before his own. He was a loving husband and father to three beautiful children. Throughout a courageous battle against a rare form of thyroid cancer that spanned seven years, Russ exemplified unwavering resilience, inspiring all who knew him. Russ passed away on January 24, 2022.

The Russ Duncan Memorial Scholarship was established in loving memory of Russ Duncan to extend a helping hand to families affected by cancer by offering assistance and encouragement to individuals pursuing their educational goals despite the hardships their families have faced.

Have a parent/guardian who has battled cancer or is currently fighting cancer
Graduating from a high school in the upper 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle
US citizen or permanent resident
Planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year university, community college, or junior college

Application Process

4. HCHF Review
- Scholarship application reviewed by HCHF Scholarship Committee
- Recommendations reviewed by Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation's board of directors
