The Ruppenthal Student Travel Awards provide $500 grants to support undergraduate and graduate students in attending the annual meetings of the American Society of Primatologists (ASP). Eligible students must present their work as first authors with an accepted abstract. A special focus is given to Latin American students, with one award reserved for applicants from that region. The program aims to enhance attendance from students who may otherwise be unable to participate.Overview
NOTE: Your application will require one letter of recommendation. At the time you submit your Ruppenthal Student Travel Award online, the online system will email your letter writer automatically with instructions on how to submit a letter. Your letter writer does not have to submit their letter of recommendation by the application deadline. However, to ensure that the letters are received in time for review, referees should submit their letters no later than one week after the Ruppenthal Student Travel Award application deadline. Letter of recommendation is represented by full proposal deadline above Ruppenthal Student Travel Awards All current, active student members of ASP are eligible for $500.00 awards to offset the cost of travel and accommodation to the annual ASP meetings. These awards are supported by donations to the ASP general fund in memory of Gerald C. Ruppenthal. The awards are designed to help students who would otherwise not be able to attend the meeting. Typically, four or five students are awarded a Ruppenthal Student Travel Award each year. With ASP 2024 being held in a primate range country, the Board of Directors has increased the number of awards to 10 for this year to provide additional support for students in primate range countries.Eligibility
