Mission The Retirement Research Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for our nation’s older adults. RRF is one of the first private foundations devoted exclusively to aging and retirement issues. As the issues facing an aging population gain ever-greater urgency, the Foundation remains committed to supporting innovative solutions that enhance the lives of older Americans. Responsive Grants - Advocacy The Retirement Research Foundation funds advocacy projects that have a regional or national impact for older Americans. Of particular interest are projects that: Advance policy issues of critical importance to our nation’s seniors such as economic security, health care, housing, etc. Use clearly focused and strategic efforts to address systemic problems; Forge partnerships with organizations to achieve better use of resources and to share knowledge. Organizations applying for Advocacy Grants will: Maintain a separation between their lobbying and advocacy work; Describe the activities to be funded by RRF; Acknowledge in writing that RRF funds will not be used for lobbying efforts.Eligibility

Advocacy Grants are provided to nonprofit organizations that are: Proposing a project that has a significant impact on persons, age 60 and older Focusing on achieving policy change throughout the U.S. or within the state of Illinois.Ineligibility
While RRF is committed to funding effective advocacy programs, RRF grant funds cannot be used for lobbying efforts to win or defeat any specific pieces of legislation. RRF generally does not fund:Projects that are not intentionally focused on older people, age 60 and above Projects outside of the United States Grants to individuals Lobbying General operating expenses or support for ongoing programs without significant changes in strategy or focus Biomedical research, basic theory development for social science research, or research and development for new technology Construction of facilities, capital improvements, or computer equipment Conferences, publications, or production of films and videos unless they are integral components of a larger project Dissertation research, tuition expenses, or education programs for undergraduate or graduate students Endowments, capital campaigns, or fundraising events Private foundations Financial deficitsFocus Areas & Funding Uses
