Rotary Community Needs Grants

The Rotary Community Needs Grants, offered by the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs, aim to support local 501(c)3 organizations, schools, and government agencies in Routt County. Grants of up to $2,000 are available, focusing on projects that benefit youth and seniors, although all community-serving programs are welcome. Since 2004, the club has distributed 238 grants totaling $333,050, demonstrating a strong commitment to addressing local needs and fostering community engagement.

The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs has been on a mission to grow our local foundation in order to offer more grants and find ways to increase our impact in our community. Currently we have two grant opportunities available for local 501(c)3 organizations, schools or government agencies in Routt County.
The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs has a long history of supporting local non-profit organizations. Since 2004, the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs alone has distributed 238 grants to 84 non-profits equating to $333,050!
The charitable needs of our community are great, and annually the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs distributes community grants up to $2,000 each to deserving local organizations. The Community Grant program focuses on activities that primarily serve youth and seniors in the community but is not limited to these activities. Applications for programs benefitting the overall community are also welcome.
The scope of impact on the target beneficiaries and numbers of those benefitting will be a factor in evaluating the applications.

Eligibility

The requesting organization must be a 501(c)3 organization, school, or government agency in Routt County.The community grant program focuses on activities that primarily serve youth and seniors in the community but is not limited to these activities. Applications for programs benefitting the entire community will also be entertained.Applications from religious organizations will be considered but must be for a totally secular purpose.The applicant must demonstrate how the funds will be used for a specific activity, capital purchase or defined purpose other than general administrative or overhead expenses. Costs must be directly attributable to the activity.Organizations may apply for funding if it has applied and been granted in prior years. However, organizations should not anticipate repeat funding regardless of how many times the grant has been awarded previously.

Ineligibility

Grant funds may not be used for regranting or for providing funding for individuals, e.g. scholarships or travel.Grants will not be made retroactively for activities that have occurred prior to the application being considered.
