Robert W. Woodruff Foundation: Human Services Grant

The Robert W. Woodruff Foundation focuses on enhancing the quality of life in metro Atlanta and Georgia through impactful grants in various sectors, including human services. The foundation supports initiatives aimed at improving safety net services and youth development, along with limited disaster relief efforts. Grant requests are accepted year-round, with specific deadlines for consideration at board meetings. Organizations eligible for funding must be 501(c)(3) charities operating in Georgia, with strong leadership and financial sustainability.

NOTE: The Foundation accepts grant requests throughout the year. We encourage you to submit before the deadlines listed below.
February 1 – Requests received by the first business day on or after February 1 will be considered at the April meeting of our Board of Trustees.August 15 – Requests received by the first business day on or after August 15 will be considered at the November meeting of our Board of Trustees.
We have awarded more than 2,300 grants totaling $4.2 billion since inception.
We make grants in six areas to improve the quality of life for everyone who calls our region home. Grants typically support one-time needs for organizations with strong leadership, a broad base of financial support, successful program outcomes, and the capacity to sustain work long-term.

Eligibility

The Foundation’s grantmaking is generally limited to organizations located and operating in metro Atlanta.We will occasionally consider grants to significant institutions and initiatives in communities throughout Georgia.Your organization may be eligible for a grant if it:Is a 501(c)(3) public charity.Is located or operating in Georgia.Has paid full-time staff and an annual budget over $500,000 Aligns with the Foundation’s program interests in Health, Education, Environment, Human Services, Arts & Culture or Community Development.
