NOTE: The Foundation accepts grant requests throughout the year. We encourage you to submit before the deadlines listed below. February 1 – Requests received by the first business day on or after February 1 will be considered at the April meeting of our Board of Trustees.August 15 – Requests received by the first business day on or after August 15 will be considered at the November meeting of our Board of Trustees. About The Robert W. Woodruff Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life in metro Atlanta and Georgia by investing in transformational, lasting solutions to community needs. We have awarded more than 2,300 grants totaling $4.2 billion since inception. The Woodruff Foundation focuses giving on metro Atlanta and occasionally considers support for significant initiatives across Georgia. We make grants in six areas to improve the quality of life for everyone who calls our region home. Grants typically support one-time needs for organizations with strong leadership, a broad base of financial support, successful program outcomes, and the capacity to sustain work long-term. Human Services We invest in solutions to improve safety net services and youth development in metro Atlanta. Human services are a small part of our average grants portfolio (see chart). We support major initiatives to expand and strengthen services that help people thrive in metro Atlanta. We provide limited support for disaster relief efforts across Georgia.
