Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship

Overview: The Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship is a competitive scholarship program offered by the American Traffic Safety Services (ATSS) Foundation to support students who have experienced tragedy in work zones.

Geographic Scope: United States (national program)

Focus Areas: Work zone safety, roadway worker safety

Eligibility:

  • Dependents of roadway workers who were killed or permanently disabled in work zone incidents

  • Students pursuing post-secondary education (community college, four-year college, graduate school, or trade school)

  • Students can reapply each year through graduate studies

  • Students demonstrating strong commitment to volunteerism may receive an additional $1,000 Chuck Bailey Memorial Scholarship
  • Award Amount: Up to $10,000 annually; up to $1,000 additional for Chuck Bailey Memorial component
