Overview

AmeriCorps State 2026 Competition SerVermont's AmeriCorps State 2026 competition held in coordination with AmeriCorps State and National Competition is open for applications. More information on submitting a full application can be found in the Request for Proposals. This competition is held annually. The next competition funds programs operating in the AmeriCorps 2026-2027 Program Year, which runs for a one-year period starting no sooner than July 1, 2026. AmeriCorps will announce funding decisions for this competition in April 2026. SerVermont's competition is for single state AmeriCorps programs that propose operating only in Vermont. Applicants that propose operating in multiple states apply directly to AmeriCorps through the national competition. Single state applicants must respond to SerVermont's Request for Proposals and all applicable deadlines to be considered for funding. Multi-state applicants apply directly to AmeriCorps, but must consult with SerVermont on an annual basis as part of the process. The AmeriCorps State Competition in Vermont is governed by the State documents below, as well as the AmeriCorps materials related to the competition. Competitive Award Competitive funds are awarded directly by AmeriCorps. SerVermont selects applications to submit to AmeriCorps for review in competition with proposals from all single and multi-state applicants. AmeriCorps runs a Peer and Staff Review to make competitive funding determinations. Applications submitted to the competition that are not selected by AmeriCorps for Competitive funding are automatically considered for a Formula Award from SerVermont. Formula Award Formula funds are awarded directly by SerVermont. Formula funds are made available to SerVermont based on the federal allocation for AmeriCorps and state population. The amount of funds available to SerVermont depends on the allocation from AmeriCorps. SerVermont does not run a separate process for Formula Awards, but considers all applications submitted to SerVermont for formula funding, including those which are not submitted to the AmeriCorps competition.
