Summary

The Research Travel Grants for Faculty and Graduate (ABD) Students, established by the RMMLA Executive Board, aim to support scholars facing reduced travel budgets in English and Foreign Language departments. These grants provide a $500 stipend for essential travel related to research projects. Eligible applicants include RMMLA members, both faculty and graduate students in the dissertation phase. Selection is based on project merit and travel necessity.

Overview

Reduced or non-existent travel budgets have become more and more common in English and Foreign Language departments throughout the US. The RMMLA Executive Board has, therefore, established two Research Travel Grants, one for faculty (including university and college professors, independent scholars, and emeriti faculty) and one for graduate students in the dissertation phase (ABD). Each award carries with it a $500 stipend to support travel necessary to the applicant’s research project. Selection is based on the merit of the project and the need for travel to complete the project.
