Summary
The American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) offers research scholarships to support graduate students in scientific diving. Our Mission Support AAUS in facilitating the development of safe and productive scientific divers through education, research, and the advancement of standards for scientific diving practices, certifications and operations. The Foundation The AAUS Foundation, a 501c3, incorporated in 2010, will further the mission of AAUS by encouraging tax-deductible donations. The Foundation was organized for the support and promotion of the AAUS by furthering the Academy's mission of facilitating the development of safe and productive scientific divers through education, research and the advancement of standards for scientific diving practices, certifications and operations. Research Scholarship The American Academy of Underwater Sciences awards two $3000 research scholarships to graduate students, one Master program student and one Ph.D. candidate, engaged in, or planning to begin, a research project in which diving is or will be used as a principal research tool or study scientific diving. The AAUS may also award two additional $1500 scholarships to the next two proposals that are ranked the highest. If the additional scholarships are awarded, they may be split between the Master program and the Ph.D. program, or they may be both awarded within a single program.Eligibility
