Overview
Overview
Objective
Our objective is to frontload investments in high-impact movements for culture change, with a focus on shifting attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people as well as strengthening civic engagement and democracy.
Building on Stonewall's history as a trust-based movement funder, this program formalizes several of our long-standing values and strategies. We believe that those who are closest to the problems are closest to the solutions. We believe in supporting organizations led by the communities they serve, and we believe in our collective power to create a new world that centers our needs.
We ask that applicants tell us how funds would be used. We believe that when foundations listen to their grantee partners, transformational results are possible. We aim to demonstrate the willingness to listen and trust in the resourcefulness of the organizations we fund.
Reclaiming Our Power Request for Proposals
In the face of targeted attacks on queer and trans communities, Stonewall Community Foundation is launching a request for proposals to support organizations that take back queer power, stand tall in the face of adversity, and ensure our community has the resources necessary to thrive.
Seeded by the Mark L. Brandt Legacy Fund at Stonewall Community Foundation, multiple organizations will be awarded two-year general operating grants of up to $20,000 per year.
