Overview:
The Ready2Work Award is designed to help recent graduates overcome barriers to employment by providing a one-time award to support transition into the workforce.

Eligibility

• Must have received a scholarship from Fremont Area Community Foundation between 2010 and present
• Must live in West Michigan
• Must have earned a degree or higher credential (certificate, credential, or college degree)
• Copy of certificate or diploma required

Award Details

• Award Amount: $250 for West Michigan residents
• Award Amount: $50 for former scholarship recipients who do NOT live in West Michigan (Graduation Award)

Purpose

Awards help minimize impact of barriers to employment such as:
• Lack of proper tools or attire for new trade
• Clothing for job interviews
• Other identified barriers to workforce entry

Context

Launched in 2011 as part of Goal 2025 initiative to help local residents obtain career credentials ranging from trade certificates to college degrees. Program provides data collection on scholarship program impact and barriers graduates face entering the workforce.
