Rapid Response Grant
Funder: Colorado Plateau Foundation (Flagstaff, AZ)
Overview: CPF's rapid response grants support Native-led organizations responding to critical and urgent needs and unforeseen opportunities in the Colorado Plateau region. Grants can be applied for at any time and are separate from CPF's annual grant cycle.

Purpose
Support Native-led organizations addressing:- Colorado Plateau region
- Tribal nations on the Colorado Plateau
Geographic Scope
- Native-led organization in-service to tribal nations on the Colorado Plateau
- Working in any of the CPF priority areas: protection of water, protection of sacred places and threatened landscapes, preservation of Native languages, and food security through sustainable community-based agriculture
- Native-controlled organization (majority of governing board and staff are Native)
- Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, tribal government with IRS 7871 status, or organization with 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor
- In good standing with grant reports if past CPF grant recipient
- Organization faces an unforeseen circumstance that is an urgent need
Eligibility
Required Criteria:- Completion of a time-sensitive financial audit following the loss of critical staff
- Acquisition of emergency safety equipment
- Support for a consultant to complete an urgent inventory of places and objects that meet Antiquities Act definitions
Examples of Eligible Urgent Needs
- Fundraising events
- Individuals (organizations only)
- Non-Native majority-led organizations
- Businesses
- Existing staff salaries
- Expenses or activities that have already occurred
- Land acquisition or research
- Education programs or scholarships
- Capital campaigns
- Literary or film projects
- Fees to attend conferences
What Is Not Eligible
- All grant recipients must share grant outcomes with CPF Program Officer within six months after receipt of funds

How to Apply
1. Submit application through CPF Foundant portal 2. Provide: - Amount of funds requested - Intended use of funds - Documentation of urgent need and unforeseen circumstance 3. CPF Program Officer will email the decision to the applicant's primary contact within 10-12 business days of submission 4. Share grant outcomes with CPF Program Officer within six months after receipt of funds- Applications accepted at any time (rolling basis)
