Overview

Rapid Response Fund

Geographic Scope: U.S. Virgin Islands (all islands)

Overview:
CFVI provides grants to families faced with unexpected financial emergencies. These grants are intended to assist with one-time emergencies. Grant amounts are generally capped at $750.

Eligible Uses:

  • Purchase of medical prescriptions

  • Emergency travel

  • Essential appliances (e.g., refrigerators and stoves)

  • Assistance with rental payments

  • Other emergency needs
  • Background:
    The Rapid Response Fund was established by a generous donation from the West Indian Company in 2003. Since then, CFVI has received support from individuals, businesses, and foundations to continue and expand the capacity of the fund.

    Partner Agencies:
    Applications can be completed at any of the following partner locations:

      Meeting the Needs of Our Community (MTOC)

      Focus: Housing/homelessness, with a focus on seniors

      Focus: Elderly, those with medical issues, new/expectant mothers

      Focus: Unemployed, homeless, families with children

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Contact one of the four partner agencies listed above
    2. Applicants must apply in-person or by phone through one of the partner agencies
    3. Agency staff will screen the requests and submit eligible applications to CFVI
    4. Applications are reviewed by a review committee made up of volunteers from the community
    5. All funding must be for immediate, one-time emergency assistance
