Program Overview
Broadway Advocacy Coalition's Rapid Response Artivism Micro-Grant awards $1,000 micro-grants to artivists to support the creation of new, narrative-based artivism that responds to issues related to systemic racism and/or mass incarceration on a local, national, or global level.- Issues: Systemic racism and mass incarceration (local, national, or global level)
- Intersectional issues: Broadly interpreted to include related social justice topics
- Project Type: Narrative-based artivism that is change-oriented, features a clear call to action, and centers the stories of those directly impacted
Focus Areas
- Target Audience: Artists, writers, organizers, activists, performers, and any person interested in combining artistry and advocacy practices to mobilize change
- Experience: Formal arts experience is NOT necessary to apply
- Collective Applications: Collectives will be considered
- Requirements: No minimum educational or experience requirements
- Preference: Given to individuals who have participated in at least one Broadway Advocacy Coalition program
- Timeline: Projects must be conceived, executed, and launched within a 2-month timeline

Project Requirements
Qualifying projects should meet Broadway Advocacy Coalition's definition of artivism:- Current Status: Pilot program
- Future Cycles: After this round, BAC will assess the program and, contingent on available funding, decide whether to launch a second cycle
Program Status
- Ownership: You will be the sole owner of your work. BAC will not own your work.
- Publicity Permission: By accepting the micro-grant, you agree to have your finished project represented on BAC's website and/or social media, and in organizational promotional materials
- Grant Report: NOT required
- Post-Grant Survey: Required to provide feedback for program improvement
