Radiology Senior Veterinary Student Award

Overview: The ACVR offers an annual award to a senior veterinary student at each veterinary school who excels in clinical radiology and/or radiation oncology.

Award Value: $575 monetary value

Geographic Scope: Available to veterinary schools in the United States

Eligibility:

  • Senior veterinary students

  • Excellence in clinical radiology and/or radiation oncology

    • Award Includes:

  • One-year online subscription to Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound (official journal of ACVR)

  • One-year membership in all ACVR Societies:

    • - Veterinary Ultrasound Society (VUS)
    - CT/MRI Society
    - Society of Veterinary Nuclear Medicine (SVNM)
    - Large Animal Diagnostic Imaging Society (LADIS)
  • Free registration at ONE of the next three annual ACVR Scientific Conferences

    • Selection Process:

  • Determined by radiology department faculty at the veterinary school

  • Should reflect student's enthusiasm for and understanding of diagnostic radiology and/or radiation oncology

  • Note: ACVR provides one award per veterinary college. Schools wishing to give awards to multiple students must pay ACVR the monetary value of additional awards

    Application Process

    1. Radiology faculty at each veterinary school select the award winner based on student's excellence in clinical radiology and/or radiation oncology

    2. Contact Lucinda Ayres (Managing Editor, Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound) at vetradus@staff.acvr.org to obtain a Recipient Information Sheet

    3. Complete the Recipient Information Sheet

    4. Submit completed information sheet at least three weeks prior to the scheduled awards banquet:
    - FAX to: 919-510-0560
    - Email: vetradus@staff.acvr.org
    - Allow time for certificate personalization and return

    5. Award recipients contact Jeanette Donahue (accounting@staff.acvr.org) to initiate their memberships

    6. Certificate presentation at school's annual Senior Awards Banquet or comparable ceremony
