Background: Mass Humanities is a non-profit based in Northampton and the state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Since its founding in 1974, the organization has provided millions of dollars in support of thousands of humanities projects across Massachusetts. It receives support from the NEH and the Massachusetts Cultural Council as well as private sources.

Application Process

1. Submit Letter of Intent (LOI) by deadline
2. Applications reviewed and approved by Mass Humanities board of directors
3. Grantees may request extensions without penalty
4. Significant programmatic changes can be submitted through online system
