Overview

Pride Foundation Scholarship Program

Overview: Partnership between Pride Foundation and the Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA) offering 50 different scholarships to support education and leadership development for LGBTQ+ and straight-ally students. Since 1993, over $4 million awarded to more than 1,400 students.

Geographic Scope: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington

Eligibility:

  • Students of any age

  • Any sexual orientation or gender identity/expression

  • Living or studying in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington

  • Pursuing any post-secondary education including:

  • - Community college
    - Public or private colleges & universities
    - Trade apprenticeships
    - Certificate programs
  • Must be committed to LGBTQ advocacy and equal rights in their community
  • Award Details:

  • Combined total of over $500,000 awarded per cycle

  • 50 different scholarships available

  • Various award amounts and focuses

    How to Apply

    Scholarship Application Process

    1. Register or Log In: Create a new account or use existing account at PrideFoundationScholar.org
    2. Complete Application: Answer essay questions and provide required materials
    3. Submit Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation required to complete application
    4. Return Multiple Times: Applicants can return to the application as many times as needed before deadline

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Key Notes:

  • One joint application for all 50 scholarships

  • Scholarships consider a wide variety of experiences and academic levels

  • Leadership can take many different forms (e.g., starting Gay Straight Alliances, organizing queer youth events, community activism)
