Post-Doctoral Award

A grant program supporting post-doctoral researchers in ophthalmology and eye/vision research. Part of Fight for Sight's mission to support and inspire eye and vision research by funding promising scientists early in their careers.

Geographic Scope: US, Canada, and overseas (investigators at more than 300 leading medical centers, universities and eye research institutes)

Focus Areas: Ophthalmology, vision research, and related sciences

Goal: To support and inspire eye and vision research; promote development of scientific skills; facilitate obtaining preliminary results necessary for substantial federal or private funding (NIH, National Eye Institute, etc.)

• Step 3: Submit application through the current grant cycle portal

Review Process: Applications are evaluated by the Scientific Review Committee (SRC) annually. The SRC ranks applications based on: qualifications and accomplishments of applicant, scientific merit of research proposal, clinical relevance of project, and resources/facilities/institutional support. Review system is modeled on NIH peer review methods.
