The Point Foundation Mission Statement The Point Foundation mission is to empower promising lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential – despite the obstacles often put before them – to make a significant impact on society. What We Do Point provides financial support, leadership training, mentoring, and community to college -students from around the world attending US-accredited educational institutions. Our work improves the equity and representation of LGBTQ people in nearly every industry, ensuring that LGBTQ people have a voice and are provided equal access and opportunity in every sector. Community College Scholarship The Point Foundation Community College Scholarship empowers LGBTQ students who are earning their associate degree or intend to transfer to a four-year college or university in the United States by offering financial support, community resources, and professional development. Award Information Amount: $2,400 per semester or $4,800 per academic year.Funding Period: Fall through spring of the next academic year. Most Point Community College Scholarships provide one year of support.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Must be enrolled or intending to enroll at an accredited community college in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska. Use scholarship funds at an accredited U.S. higher education institution between fall session and spring of the upcoming academic year. Be enrolled or intend to enroll in an associate degree or cosmetology degree/certificate program. Cosmetology students:Students with a focus on hair are eligible to apply for a Bumble and bumble Cosmetology Scholarship, which offers continuing education opportunities with Bumble and bumble.To apply, click the Bumble and bumble box while completing the Point Scholarships application.Must have 1-2 years of community college left and either:intend to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year institution ORgraduate with an associate degree. Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) throughout the academic year.Must be “out” as a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community. There is no age limit to be eligible for the Point Community College Scholarship Program.

Institutions located in US territories are ineligible.Point does not support summer study.
