PLTW Outstanding Teachers Recognizes outstanding teachers and administrators across the U.S. who inspire, engage, and empower their students by creating transformative learning experiences in their schools through PLTW programs. National PLTW Teachers and Administrator of the Year will receive: An engraved award recognizing the recipient’s outstanding achievement.A celebratory recognition event planned in your school building .A $1,000 prize (subject to all applicable federal, state, and local income taxes) .Winners’ schools will also receive a $2,000 myPLTW Store credit .Travel and registration to PLTW Summit 2026. Recognition through PLTW communications .Public recognition of recipient’s award . Award recipients also have the opportunity to: Be featured in PLTW stories, promotions, and communications.Be recognized and honored at PLTW events. We'll select a 2025-26 National PLTW Teacher of the Year for each PLTW program. All qualifying nominations will receive the 2025-26 Outstanding PLTW Teacher award. All 2025-26 Outstanding PLTW Teachers will receive an engraved award, as well as features on PLTW social media channels, in the myPLTW Direct, and other communications. PLTW Outstanding Administrators PLTW honors outstanding administrators who exhibit exemplary leadership that has a significant and positive impact in a PLTW school or district. Impact can be demonstrated through the way that a PLTW teacher enables and empowers their students to develop key transportable skills (e.g., communication, collaboration, problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, and ethical reasoning and mindset).Expanding Student AccessOutstanding PLTW teachers recognize the importance of encouraging and providing broad access to PLTW programs.Transforming TeachingOutstanding PLTW educators are leaders among their peers who value life-long learning and professional development and welcome the use of innovative methods and tools.Nominees for this award may include such individuals as teachers, teaching specialists, technology integration specialists, etc., for it’s the duties and responsibilities of one’s job that define one’s role, rather than one’s title. Nominations for this award are appropriate if one’s responsibilities include 75 percent or more of the direct instruction of students. AdministratorQualified nominees may include roles like principals, technology specialists, instructional coaches, directors, superintendents, or any educator whose responsibilities include no more than 25 percent of the direct instruction of studentsAny member of the educational community (staff, faculty, administrators, or students) may nominate a PLTW administrator for this award.
