Overview: A scholarship initiative providing registration fee scholarships to allow access to youth sports for participants who may otherwise be unable to afford participation.

Yorkville seeks to create hope by providing more opportunities for children to play. Through the PLAY it Forward initiative, the Yorkville community has made it possible to provide scholarships.

Goal

To ensure that as many young people as possible are active and engaged in positive activities through youth sports programs.

Eligibility

• Open to youth seeking participation in Yorkville Youth Athletic Association sports programs
• Financial need-based
• Yorkville does not discriminate based on a person's actual or perceived race, color, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender or sex

What is Funded

• Registration fee scholarships for youth sports program participation
• Covers access to Yorkville sports programs including: Baseball, Basketball, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Running Club, Volleyball, Wrestling, and Hockey

What is NOT Funded

• Submission of a scholarship application does not guarantee a scholarship

Important Notes

• Receiving a scholarship does not register the child for the activity
• Once approved for a scholarship, the parent/guardian must still register online for the Yorkville sport for which the scholarship was awarded
• Awardees will be notified within a week before the start of a season

Application Timeline

• Scholarship applications must be submitted at least two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of a season
• Yorkville will consider all completed applications received by the application deadline
