Philip R. Dodge Young Investigator Award

Funder: Child Neurology Society (CNS) and Child Neurology Foundation (CNF)

Overview: Award for basic science or clinical research by accomplished young investigators who are members of the Child Neurology Society. Supported by an endowment funded by CNS members and institutional contributors.

Award: $30,000 grant. Recipient will be invited to present their work at the Annual Meeting of the Child Neurology Society.

Geographic Scope: United States and Canada (based on associated grants)

Focus Areas:

  • Basic science research

  • Clinical research

  • Research does not need to focus on epilepsy
  • Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant completed child neurology residency on or after June 30, 2015 OR neurodevelopmental disability residency on or after June 30, 2016

  • Graduated medical school on or after May 2010 (or May 2009 if completed 3-year pediatric residency)

  • Extra year of eligibility added due to COVID-19 research delays

  • Extensions of eligibility considered for extended clinical training or personal/familial leave

  • Scientific work must be mainly result of applicant's efforts

  • Must be Junior or Active member of the Child Neurology Society

  • NOT disqualified if previously received NIH funding

  • Candidates should apply before final year of eligibility
