Overview

Description The funding available through this grant program comes from savings resulting from reforms under Governor Larry Hogan’s Justice Reinvestment Act (JRA) here in Maryland. JRA reforms are focused on safely reducing Maryland’s prison population by incorporating more evidence-based programming to improve reentry outcomes, reduce impacts of incarceration on communities, provide more resources to victims of crime, and connect nonviolent offenders with behavioral health needs to community treatment and support. Outcomes of PIGF funded programs will be monitored by the Justice Reinvestment Oversight Board and performance measures will be set by the Local Government Justice Reinvestment Commission.
