Peace & Recovery Initiative Call for Proposal Grant

The Peace & Recovery Initiative Call for Proposals, backed by Innovations for Poverty Action, invites research teams to explore and evaluate projects addressing social and political violence and humanitarian emergencies. With funding for exploratory grants up to $10,000 and full studies up to $500,000, the initiative emphasizes innovative approaches to understanding violence, reintegrating armed groups, and building community resilience. Submissions are encouraged to enhance evidence-based policy outreach.

The Innovations for Poverty Action Peace & Recovery Initiative (PRI), funded by UK International Development, supports rigorous impact evaluations, pilots, exploratory studies, evidence use and policy outreach support, and infrastructure and public goods projects to inform policies and programs related to the prevention of, responses to, and recovery from most forms of social and political violence as well as humanitarian emergencies, including:
International and civil warsState-supported violence and repression, from mass killings to police brutalityElectoral violenceRiots, protests, strikes, and other collective actionIntergroup violence, including ethnic and sectarian violenceTerrorism and violent extremism“Recovery” responses after conflict or crises, including natural disasters
Supported projects will contribute to innovation and generalizable learning on program effectiveness, identify the mechanisms underpinning programming, and address potential barriers to impact.

In recognition that research in some locations or with some populations is more costly, on a case-by-case basis we will consider budgets over the above award maximums that provide appropriate justification.
