Award Details

• Named in honor of Patty Kazmaier (1962-1990), a four-year varsity letter-winner and All-Ivy League defenseman at Princeton University (1981-1986)
• Patty Kazmaier-Sandt died on February 15, 1990, at age 28 following a struggle with a rare blood disease
• Award ceremony held annually at NCAA Women's Frozen Four
• Top-10 finalists announced in late February
• Top-3 finalists announced in early March
