Patty Foell Scholarship

Funder: Atlanta Track Club Foundation

Purpose: Award a college scholarship to a female metro Atlanta high school senior in memory of Patty Foell.

Award Amount: $2,500

Geographic Scope: Metro Atlanta area

Eligibility Requirements:
1. Must be a female metro Atlanta high school senior graduating in the award year
2. Athletic activities must include track, field, or cross country
3. Must be a successful high school athlete with plans to participate in college athletics
4. High academic achievement required
5. Must be a student leader and role model
6. Active in extracurricular activities and community service
7. Family monetary need considered

Selection Criteria:

  • Competitive application process

  • Selection made without regard to race, age, religion, or any other factor constituting unfair or illegal discrimination

  • All ATCF decisions are final
  • Nomination Process:

  • Nominations can only be made by high school coaches

  • Nominations reviewed by Atlanta Track Club Foundation Scholarship Committee

  • Qualified candidates may be called for interviews

  • Award announced at annual Atlanta Track Club All Metro Track & Field Banquet in May
  • Scholarship Payment:

  • Funds payable to educational institution or recipient at ATCF discretion

  • Payment made after college acceptance and selection

  • Financial information kept confidential

    1. Nomination Only: Nominations can only be made by high school coaches (students cannot apply directly)
    2. Deadline: February 1 (annual)

    - Family monetary need
