Overview

PA Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) Training Initiative The goal of the  Byrne SCIP Sequential Intercept Model Training Initiative is to create collaborative, data-informed plans that identify and enhance early intervention, deflection, diversion, treatment, and reentry options and reduce unnecessary justice system involvement locally. The primary purpose of SCIP funding is to address gun violence and improve responses to behavioral health crises through the implementation of state crisis intervention court proceedings and related programs or initiatives. This solicitation requests applications from eligible nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher education, statewide organizations, and for-profit organizations with a demonstrated ability to coordinate and conduct statewide trainings wishing to develop and disseminate a SIM Train-the Trainer course as described under Objective 1.2 in PCCD’s FY 2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program Funding Plan. A total of $50,000 in federal Byrne SCIP State Share funds is being announced to support this initiative. PCCD expects to fund approximately one grant with a budget not to exceed $50,000 over a 21-month project period.
