The Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) is excited to introduce the Patient Mental Health Grant, aimed at enhancing resources for patient mental and social health. This initiative encourages innovative program proposals such as trauma survivor mentorship, mental health screenings, and recovery coaching. Grants of up to $5,000 are available, with a matching requirement from institutions. The OTA is committed to supporting its members in advancing patient care and fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for all.

The OTA is adaptable, forward thinking and fiscally responsible and is composed of a diverse world wide membership who provide care and improve the knowledge base for the treatment of injured patients. OTA members provide worldwide leadership through education, research and patient advocacy.
Diversity
The OTA promotes and values diversity and inclusion at all levels with the goal of creating an environment where every member has the opportunity to excel in leadership, education, and culturally-competent orthopaedic trauma care.
OTA leadership is pleased to announce program development grants for resources for patient mental and social health.
Examples of program resources and processes that could be proposed include:
Screening, evaluation, and care for mental and social health opportunities; Development of peer trauma survivor mentorship programming; or Initiation of trauma recovery coaching resources. Other ideas are encouraged.
Awards will be up to $5,000, but require a match from the institution to support the proposal at double the level of the proposal. The Patient Mental Health Task Force is available to answer questions about this new opportunity. Grantees will also have access to task force member input, as mentors, regarding implementation challenges.
