Organizational Capacity Grant

Overview: This grant is designed to strengthen an organization's capacity and growth, supporting proposals that involve building or growing organizational capabilities and infrastructure.

Focus: Organizations seeking to develop think tanks and do-tanks that promote public appreciation for principles of liberty and strengthen organizational infrastructure.

Eligibility:

  • Open for partners and non-partners

  • Both Atlas Network partner organizations and potential partners may apply

  • Non-partners are encouraged to apply to become an Atlas Network partner prior to submitting a grant proposal
  • Funding Details: Part of Atlas Network's grant program, which distributes more than $10 million annually into projects designed by independent locally-led partners.

    Grant Cycle: Applications reviewed three times per year with deadlines on February 1, June 1, and October 1. Today is 2026-04-03, so the next deadline is June 1, 2026.

    Application Limit: Maximum of two (2) applications per organization in a given grant cycle.

    Review Timeline: The Grants Committee will send a final decision within one (1) to two (2) months of the application deadline.

    Step 2: After selecting the grant opportunity, indicate in the application which current funding topic best aligns with your initiative. If none fit your initiative, select "Open Category Fund."

  • Support for Atlas Network partner organizations operating in countries ranked in the lower half of the Economic Freedom of the World Index

  • Innovative ideas not matching other available funding topics (Open Category Fund)

  • Think tank establishment and growth funding (supported by Smith Family Foundation)

  • Organizational development and capacity building

  • Additional funding topics supported by various foundations
