OREF Mentored Clinician Scientist Grant

The Mentored Clinician Scientist Grant, funded by the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, supports the career development of clinician scientists by providing dedicated research time for up to five years. Eligible applicants must have a proven track record in research, evidenced by receiving NIH K08 or K23 funding. This grant is renewable annually based on scientific progress and available funding, fostering a strong future in academic surgery.

Promotes the development of new clinician scientists who have demonstrated success as both a clinician and a researcher. Allows investigators to spend dedicated time in research for a period of up to five years to develop a long and productive career in academic surgery.
The grant is renewable annually for up to five (5) years, equal to the term of the research funding, subject to annual review of the scientific progress of the research project and available OREF funding.

Eligibility

The applicant must demonstrate success in research by receiving extramural research funding under one or more K08 or K23 awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), or an equivalent funding source.
