Opportunity Fund Scholarships In Honor of Jean Dawes

Scholarships available to Alta Housing residents with financial support to invest in their future through higher education.

• Four-year degree programs

Eligibility:

• Must be an Alta Housing resident
• Must be 22 years or older
• Must have lived in an Alta Housing community for at least one year
• Must be enrolled or planning to take certificate degree or college level classes

Background:
The Opportunity Fund was created in honor of PAH Board Member Jean Dawes, who has been an advocate for affordable housing and the pursuit of higher education for over 40 years. After serving on the PAH Board for over 30 years, Jean stepped down in May 2019 to chair the Alta Housing Advisory Council.

Application Process

Required Steps:

1. Fill out an online application for committee to review
2. Provide at least one recommendation (may provide an additional recommendation)
3. Provide proof of program or college enrollment

Required Materials:

• Online application form
• Letter(s) of recommendation (at least one required; optional second recommendation)
• Proof of enrollment, which may include:
  • Acceptance letter
  • Enrollment form
  • Copy of application or registration
  • Proof of grades for any future funding
