Overview

The scholarship fund is administered by the Kootenai Electric Trust and provides educational grants to qualifying students. Funds are paid directly to the educational institution, which must return any unused funds to the scholarship fund.

Eligibility Requirements

• Primary residence: Recipient's primary residence must be the household of a Kootenai Electric Cooperative member
• Enrollment: Recipient must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, an accredited educational or training institution
• Academic standing: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and must be in good standing
• Previous winners: A person may submit an application each year, but previous winners are not eligible for a second scholarship
• Documentation: Official transcript must accompany the application

Award Details

• Amount: $2,000 per scholarship winner for educational expenses
• Payment method: Grant funds are paid directly to the education institution

Selection Criteria

Awards are determined based on a combination of:
• School and community involvement
• Academic ability
• Financial need
• Essay quality

Winners' Requirements

• Winners will be asked to submit a photo/video
• Must agree to allow KEC to use their photo/video and/or name in Cooperative publications, social media, website, and press releases
