One Happy Camper® (OHC) Program - Orange County

Funder: Foundation for Jewish Camp with support from Samueli Foundation ($5 million, four-year grant)

Geographic Scope: Orange County, California

Total Funding: $5 million commitment (four-year grant from Samueli Foundation)

Funding Focus Areas:

• First camper grants ($1,000 and $1,500 need-blind grants for first three years at camp)
• Middle-income access grants for families earning up to $250,000/year
• Need-based scholarships
• Camp recruitment grants

Eligibility:

• Families in Orange County, California
• New and returning campers
• All income levels (need-blind for first three summers)
• Families earning $250,000 or less per year remain eligible indefinitely

What They Fund:

• Camper tuition assistance
• Camp attendance fees
• Marketing support for individual camps to boost recruitment

Program Scale: FJC and partners have provided over 125,000 One Happy Camper® grants to help camps attract new campers and increase enrollment

Application Process

Steps:

1. Find a camp for your child
2. Register your child at the camp
3. Complete FJC's online application
