LEAP's longest-running entrepreneurial support initiative that provides intensive 2-month training for aspiring business owners from all walks of life across the Lansing tri-county region (Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties).

Geographic Scope: Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties (tri-county region)

• Business planning, marketing, and financial management instruction

• One-on-one mentorship and coaching during and beyond the initial course dates

Funding & Impact:

• To date, $480,000 in grants have been provided to over 190 program graduates
• Revenue generated by these ventures totaled $4.7M
• $1.1M in secured investments
• 25 expansion events
• 400 new products/services

• Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) funding
• Seed funding support from Senator Anthony and State Representative Witwer

Application Process

Program Structure:

1. Participants enroll in intensive 2-month cohort training
2. Complete curriculum covering business foundations, planning, marketing, and financial management
3. Participate in peer collaboration sessions
4. Receive one-on-one mentorship and coaching
5. Graduate with:
   • Solid business plan
   • Growing professional network
   • $2,500 seed grant for launch or expansion
6. Continue engagement with mentors and coaches beyond initial course dates
