Overview

DEQ’s Environmental Education Program is responsible for the development of educational programs and materials. The program is tasked with disseminating environmental education resources throughout the state and training educators on how to implement those resources into their classrooms. Free presentations and information are available for schools, neighborhood associations, and community groups regarding air quality, land protection, water quality, and general environmental issues. We can have a booth, a hands-on activity, presentation, or bring publications to classrooms, community events, Natural Resources Day, Career Day, STEM Day or celebrations such as America Recycles Day, Earth Day, and more. The DEQ Environmental Education Program is committed to educate all Oklahomans about the environment, their place in it, and what they can do to protect it.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. You must be an Oklahoma teacher, public or private (Preschool – 12), school environmental club, youth group leader, and/or organization with a youth component to apply for the grant. The proposed project must: have an environmental education focus include direct student involvement contain clear ties to classroom learning objectives or state curriculum standards be completed by the end of the next school year. Any organization, community group, nature center, museum, school, etc. that is based in Oklahoma and that involves youth in environmental and/or conservation education is welcome to apply for this grant.
