OCUF Student Video Scholarship

Program Type: Educational Scholarship (Video Competition)

Overview:
The Ohio Credit Union Foundation awards video scholarship prizes to Ohio credit union members continuing their education. Applicants create a commercial promoting credit union membership.

Award Details:

• Total Available: $8,500 per year
• 1st Place: $5,000
• 2nd Place: $2,500
• 3rd Place: $1,000

Eligibility:

• Ohio credit union members
• College-bound high school graduates
• College-enrolled students
• Attending or planning to attend trade school or traditional college during the school year

Selection Criteria:

• Creativity of video submission
• Quality of production
• How well applicant addresses the prompt

Award Usage:

• Scholarship funds for education at trade schools or traditional colleges

Application Process

Video Submission Requirements:

• Create a short commercial video
• Follow the prompt: "Imagine you are now running your credit union, and you need to promote the benefits of membership. Show us how you would entice community members to join your credit union."

Submission Method:

• Submit through OCUF Student Video Scholarship webpage

Evaluation:

1. Videos reviewed for creativity and production quality
2. Judges assess how well applicant addresses the prompt
3. Winners announced via League social media channels
4. Scholarship funds awarded to winners

Timeline Notes:

• Historically accepted through early June
• Winners announced mid-to-late June
• Funds available for 2020-21 school year (and subsequent years)
