Overview

Ocoee Foundation Scholarship Fund

Purpose: Recognize senior students graduating from high school who are pursuing a degree in a healthcare-related field.

Award Amount: $25,000 total for a 4-year academic term ($6,250 per year / $3,125 per semester)

Renewal: All scholarships are renewable for a total of four years based on satisfactory progress towards a degree.

    Geographic Scope

  • Primary: Bradley County, Tennessee high schools
  • College/University Location: Not restricted to Tennessee institutions (though FAFSA must list at least one TN institution for state aid consideration)

    Selection Criteria

    Scholarships are awarded on the basis of:
  • Academic Eligibility: Minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • Financial Need
  • Community Service

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be graduating from a high school in Bradley County
  • Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average
  • Must be pursuing a degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Must complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • If unable to complete FAFSA due to lack of social security number, must attach written notice of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) from the US Citizenship and Immigration Service

    Additional Information

  • Foundation reserves the right to review transcripts of recipients periodically and determine renewal based on academic progress
  • Late and/or incomplete application packets will not be considered
  • Applicants should contact colleges/universities they're applying to for any additional financial aid forms required

Required Steps

1. Complete FAFSA
- Available online at www.fafsa.gov
- Tennessee residents should list at least one Tennessee college or university to be considered for state aid (TN Student Assistance Award and/or TN Education Lottery Scholarship Program)
- Note: If awarded this scholarship, you are not required to attend a Tennessee college or University

2. DACA Alternative (if applicable)
- If unable to complete FAFSA due to lack of social security number, attach written notice of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) from the US Citizenship and Immigration Service

3. Complete and Submit Application
- Submit the application along with ALL required supplemental materials
- Incomplete or late application packets will not be considered

4. Contact Additional Institutions
- Contact the colleges/universities to which you are applying to see if they require additional financial aid forms
