Background: This program expands Ocean Visions' existing work with the Grantham Environmental Trust in fielding expert teams to evaluate and advise ocean-based carbon dioxide removal initiatives. The program addresses the urgent need for gigaton-scale cleanup of greenhouse gas pollution already in the biosphere and ocean-based solutions that build on natural processes.
