Overview: Nishnabotna Valley REC is invested in empowering the next generation of community leaders by offering scholarships for two- and four-year colleges, as well as technical, vocational, and electric lineworker programs.

    Award Details

  • Total Award: Up to $7,000 in college scholarships annually awarded by NVREC and Basin Electric Power Cooperative for the 2025-2026 school year
  • Individual Award Amount: $1,000 per scholarship
  • Number of Awards: Multiple scholarships available (three $1,000 scholarships for 2/4-year college, three $1,000 for technical/vocational, one $1,000 for electrical lineworker program)

  • Service territory of Nishnabotna Valley REC in Iowa

    Eligibility

  • General: Graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled college students in NVREC service area
  • College Scholarships (2/4-year): Must be a dependent of NVREC member-owner; students may qualify only once
  • Technical/Vocational Scholarships: Must be a dependent of NVREC member-owner; given priority; students may qualify only once
  • Electrical Lineworker Scholarship: Must be a graduate of a high school within NVREC's service territory
  • Basin Electric Scholarship: Dependents of NVREC member-owners eligible for additional $1,000 scholarship through Basin Electric Power Cooperative in Bismarck, ND
