North Coast Ethics in Business Scholarship

Funder: Rotary District 5130 North Coast Ethics in Business Committee and Corporate Sponsors

Geographic Scope: Sonoma, Humboldt, Napa, Lake, Del Norte, and Mendocino counties (California)

Award Amount: $1,000 (one competitive scholarship awarded annually)

Program Overview: The North Coast Ethics in Business Awards scholarship program is dedicated to maintaining high standards of ethical conduct in businesses and non-profit organizations and honoring future business leaders. The scholarship is provided through donations from corporate sponsors.

Eligibility Requirements

Academic Requirements:

Maintain an unweighted 3.25 GPA or higher

Current high school junior OR high school senior planning to attend college/university in Fall (of application year)

Membership Requirements:

Must be a member of a Rotary Interact Club, OR

Must be a current Rotary Youth Leadership Awardee (RYLA)

Program Requirements:

Demonstrate desire and interest to learn about ethics in their field of study

Interest in learning about Rotary District 5130 and Rotary International work

Geographic Requirement:

Must be attending/have attended high school in eligible counties: Sonoma, Humboldt, Napa, Lake, Del Norte, or Mendocino

Program History

• Program launched in 2020-2021 under Rotary District Governor Doug Johnson
• Based on Rotary's "Four-Way Test" and "Core Values"
• First scholarship awarded in 2021
