Overview

The North-Central Section of the Geological Society of America offers Undergraduate Student Research Grants to promote research opportunities. Established in 1966, these grants support undergraduate members attending schools in the North-Central Section. Each faculty member can endorse one student annually, fostering academic growth and exploration in the geological sciences.

In 1966, the North-Central Section was established by the Council of the Geological Society of America to expand section coverage for all of the United States and Canada. Since 1993 the North-Central Section has provided grant awards for undergraduate research projects.
