Nonprofit Leadership Advancement Program (NLAP)

Overview: A five-part professional development series that provides relevant, evidence-based training for local nonprofit executives. The program was launched in 2018 with Ratliff & Taylor, Ohio's largest full-service talent management consultancy.

Geographic Scope: Cleveland and Akron area nonprofits in Ohio

Eligibility:

  • Current executive directors or those planning to move into more significant leadership roles

  • The vast majority of Cleveland and Akron area nonprofits are eligible for subsidies thanks to foundation partner support
  • Program Structure:

  • Format: 5 sessions, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Location: Independence, OH

  • Features: Cohort-based program with personalized learning through individual and team-based assessments
  • Curriculum:

  • Session 1: Your Resilience Strategy - Stanford University research-based strategies for building resilience

  • Session 2: Neuroscience, Emotional Intelligence & Nonprofit Leadership - EQi assessment and emotional quotient development

  • Session 3: Leaders Coaching Clinic - Coaching frameworks for 1:1s and team conversations

  • Session 4: Strategic Thinking and Planning - 7-step strategic planning model

  • Session 5: Effective Board Leadership (half-day) - Board governance best practices, meeting management, succession planning
