Overview

The Foundation generally does not accept unsolicited applications. Invited organizations that provide education, scholarships, training, and mentoring for disadvantaged youth and young adults may be asked to submit an online Letter of Inquiry (LOI). The Foundation will review submissions and, if approved, may request that the applicant submit a Stage 2 Grant Application. Mission The mission of the Nobbs Foundation is to empower and enable disadvantaged but aspiring children and young adults to reach their dreams and become independent, productive, and self-sufficient. The Foundation supports organizations in Southern California that provide education, scholarships, training, and mentoring. The Nobbs Foundation funds organizations dedicated to empowering youth and young adults through education and mentoring. Through grants and scholarships, we enable people who aspire to reach their dreams to succeed. Grantmaking The priorities of the Nobbs Foundation are based on the values of founders Mulford Jackson Nobbs ("Nobby") and his wife Vestal Litton Nobbs ("Patt"): to provide opportunities to people in need to become independent, productive and self-sufficient. Grants funds may be used for program expenses, operating expenses or capital expenses. Grants shall generally be awarded for a single year.

Ineligibility

Generally, grants will not be made to fund endowments.Grant funds may not be used for organizational start-up expenses, although the Foundation will consider supporting start-up programs within an existing organization.
