NJCCR: Postdoctoral Fellowship Grants

The NJCCR Postdoctoral Fellowship Grants aim to retain talented scientists dedicated to cancer research in New Jersey. These grants support innovative research projects with funding up to $200,000 for a maximum of two years. Applicants must be accepted for postdoctoral training under a qualified sponsor at a New Jersey research institution. New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research (NJCCR)
The New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research (NJCCR) was established on January 17, 1983, with the passage of the “Cancer Research Act” by the New Jersey State Legislature. NJCCR promotes significant and original research related to Cancer in New Jersey. The NJCCR functions as an independent body and serves as an important resource to providers and consumers of cancer services in the State.
The mission of the NJCCR is to ensure that the citizens of New Jersey receive the fullest benefit of our nation’s fight against cancer through the promotion and funding of research into the causes, prevention, and treatment of cancer.
NJCCR Objectives
NJCCR’s primary objectives include:
Review and authorize approved cancer research projectsApportion all available funds to qualifying research institutions to finance approved research projects and necessary institutional support servicesEnsure that funds appropriated to approved research projects are not diverted to any other useTake steps necessary to encourage the development within the State of research projects on:the causes of cancerpain management and palliative care for persons diagnosed with cancerProvide the Governor and the Legislature with an Annual Report describing the state of the commission’s activities and the results of its funded research efforts
