Eligibility:

Military veterans

Must be accepted to and attending one of the following master's programs at Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY:

- M.A. in Journalism (16-month program)
- M.A. in Engagement Journalism (16-month program)
- M.A. in Journalism with bilingual concentration (Spanish and English) (16-month program)

Newsroom Placement:

Placement with newsrooms that are members of the Institute for Nonprofit News (INN) - national network of nonprofit, nonpartisan news organizations

Geographic Scope: United States

Background:
Partnership created to increase veteran representation in journalism and strengthen media through diverse perspectives. Veterans have historically been underrepresented in journalism despite extensive military service. Program aims to launch veterans into public service journalism careers while strengthening nonprofit newsrooms' ability to cover military and veterans issues.
