Nevada Promise Scholarship
Overview: A unique scholarship established by the Nevada Legislature for Nevada high school graduates to attend community college. Functions as a last-dollar scholarship covering up to three years of educational costs.
Geographic Scope: Nevada (must be classified as Nevada resident for tuition purposes)
Eligibility:
- High school diploma from public or private high school in Nevada
- High school diploma from public high school in Nevada-bordering county that accepts Nevada residents
- GED or equivalent before age 20, no later than June 15
- Homeschooled students: GED, HiSET, or TASC by June 15

How to Apply
Application Steps
All steps are mandatory. Failure to complete requirements by deadlines results in loss of scholarship eligibility.
1. Complete Nevada Promise Scholarship Application
- Deadline: October 31 (midnight)
- For Class of 2026 students
- Online application submission
2. Complete TMCC Application for Admission
- Must select upcoming Fall Application for Admission
- Must be degree-seeking to qualify for financial assistance

3. Complete Nevada Promise Program Training
- Deadline: March 1
- Required to maintain scholarship
4. File 2026-27 FAFSA
- Deadline: April 1
- All Nevada Promise applicants required
- If not FAFSA-eligible, submit Non-FAFSA Filer Declaration by April 1
5. Explore Placement Options
- Submit ACT or SAT scores (less than 2 years old)
- Use qualifying high school GPA
- Submit AP scores
- Or use alternate pathways with high school coursework
- Submit official copies to Admissions and Records
6. Complete New Student Orientation
- Access via WebCollege Canvas using TMCC username and password
- Required orientation covering resources and services
7. Complete and Report Community Service Hours
- Deadline: May 1
- Minimum 8 hours required
- Report completion to program office
8. Meet with Assigned Mentor
- Deadline: July 1
- Minimum one meeting required
- TMCC Nevada Promise Office assigns mentor after community service verification
9. Complete Financial Aid File (To-Do List)
- Deadline: July 1
- Check MyTMCC account for required documentation
- Submit all requirements to Financial Aid Office
10. Register for Classes
- Deadline: July 1
- Register for minimum 12 credits required for certificate/degree program
- Fall semester registration
- Complete through MyTMCC using TMCC username and password
