Geographic Scope: Texas (serving Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Kaufman, and Tarrant counties)

Focus Areas: Community service and volunteer engagement

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a member of Neighborhood Credit Union OR be related to a member
• Must be a high school senior OR a college freshman
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
• Must plan on or currently be attending a two-year or four-year accredited university or college

Award Details

Scholarship money awarded towards the upcoming school year. Based on 2022 awards, multiple scholarships are presented annually.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit either:

• A 1,000-word essay, OR
• A short video

Both formats must answer the prompt: "In the past year, how did you help the community you call home?"

The Neighborhood Credit Union scholarship committee reviews submissions and selects recipients based on demonstrated community engagement and volunteer efforts. The credit union has been serving Texas communities for over 95 years as a not-for-profit financial organization.
